From nerdy bookworm to
professional storyteller...
My name is Miranda. I've worked in the entertainment industry since I could walk. My first steps were taken onstage (I had insisted on pushing my stroller onto the stage by myself) with my mom and dad who were in the ensemble of a professional Christmas show.
I grew up in and around theatre while my parents worked as professional performers, directors, stage management and choreographers.
Later on, they opened a performing arts studio, Diamond Talent, where I got to perform both in musical theatre, dance, and tap companies. When I wasn't performing, I was helping steam costumes, build sets, test lights, and run music. It's a wonder why I decided to go into the industry as a professional.
By the time I had reached high school, my love of theatre expanded beyond musical theatre into Shakespeare & classical theatre and filmmaking. I loved reading every book I could get my hands on. I wrote so many short stories and scripts on my family computer and saved them onto a yellow floppy disk (back in the early 2000s). I traveled to London to see Shakespeare performed at the Globe and devoured every performance from the National Theatre as I could. I taught myself how to edit film as another fun creative outlet, and I knew that I wanted to be attached to the storytelling world in some fashion for the rest of my life.
Once I graduated, my real adventure began...
